Bishop J.J. Moor Zion Family library

Research Library

We are the descendants of many generations of spiritual men and women: priests, preachers, & researchers. Through our study and family library we offer consultations as Special Advisers on the subjects of: politics, economics, education, & culture/history. Some of our current research topics are: the five year economic plan, base ecclesiastical communities, Moorish Spain, and Moorish Science

Research Library

The Bishop John Jamison Moor Zion Family Library is a membership Research Library and Institution that carries on the legacy of Bishop John Jamison Moore, Saint Benyamin the Moor and his enslaved parents Fannie Riedoubt and John Moor. 


In 1852 Bishop Moor founded and operated a church, library, and school, with 50 pupils in San Francisco, California for the AME Zion Church. In 2021, the same library is a part of the Zionst Temple of 1875 for Orphans and Widows and it’s Department of Asher (Education) as well as the Bishop Moor First Zion Sabbath School. 


The Bishop John Jamison Moor Zion Family Library is a member of the American Library Association. As of November 10, 2019, there are five working positions: Clerk, Administrator, Librarian, Chief Librarian, & Custodian
